  • Another Political Ploy

  • The onset of another major fiasco I may want to call it.  The British foreign secretary was in Pakistan 0n the 07/07/2009 to extend some aid to the people of Pakistan in order to reinstate their tarnished state of affairs in the war stricken areas of Swat and north Waziristan where millions of refugees had to scatter themselves away to safer havens amid the crisis that started taking momentum in the strong foothold areas of Taliban’s.  The first underlying problem that remains unresolved in the hearts and minds of a lot of Pakistanis like myself is: who are the Taliban’s??  In the cold war era when America was fully engaged in the disintegration of the Soviet Union these later on to be called Taliban’s were fully exhibited as “MUJAHEDEENS” by the international media.  They were known to be the people who had an absolute and full ownership in doing what they were doing, amid all the unfolding events Pakistan was given a full play in the situation.  Now when the cold war came to an end and Afghanistan was declared triumphant though the onus of the actual success had its bearing on the US agendas, serenity prevailed for a period of time until a new nemesis Al-qaeda came into existence, again this was the foreign wing in the MUJAHEDEEN lot who had a stake in the Afghan struggle for freedom, who were allegedly known to have been the perpetrators in the Sept 11th attacks on the trade center, something that does not quite budge to the common sense, as to how a bunch of foreign fighters in the remotest of all areas with little or no technology all of a sudden could hack into the highly equipped CIA system and subject it to their whims.  Peter Bergen an anti terrorism analyst for CNN in his book Holy war Inc. talks all about the way the infrastructure of all these attacks were laid out in countries of American interest, but little did he talk about how the American intelligence could have misconstrued such a blatant event that was being put together in broad day light, right on the American soil. It’s not plain but absolute non- sense, the details of that do not require a further narrative as the situation has already been spelt out real well. In a nutshell little attacks that were carried out in the US embassies in Africa or minor bomb blast incidents that meant to cause a number of deaths that might have had a count to 15-20 at the most and several casualties are more like the acts that could be related to these foreign fighters, but a whole scale event like 911 demanded a lot more than a few men sitting in the caves of Afghanistan putting together such a massive plot is beyond common sense.  The common mind has come to understand the ploy behind it, but I will not, like many other analysts dwell into deciphering on it any further.

Now that the common man has about begun to understand 911 and its ramifications a little more vividly, but have they yet understood the concept of  talibanization going beyond the precincts and parameters of Afghanistan,  its abrupt encroachment into Pakistani territory , and in the recent years its onslaught being a little too violent.  All of this being said does that go back to addressing the peaceful motives that the Talibans really meant to address keeping aside all the western/US propaganda’s that have wrongly stirred the emotions of people. Again Peter Bergen in his book Holy War Inc in a very under tone way has tried to narrate that a score of people did say that the Taliban rule did mean in subsiding a lot of crime that was prevalent in the Afghan society, but again the good part of the Taliban’s were not subject to a lot of emphasis as the purpose of the book and the real motive behind its articulation would have been defeated

What really needs to be actively highlighted and addressed to the world is the Neo-Talibanization that is a new phenomenon that is meant to delude the heart and minds of the common man, in projecting Pakistan as one of the most distinct name in the list of countries fostering terrorism. On the other hand we have the mosad/RAW/CIA supported men who are fully being aided and abated by these agencies in order to tarnish the social fabric of Pakistan time and again in the name of the Taliban’s or in other word these poor and underfed people are being used as mercenaries to foist the situation in the wake of the attack already operative in Afghanistan.

What makes it really interesting is that entire Pakistani political realm is well aware of all that is in the happening and above all foreseeable in the cooking, I just happen not to understand what strategies are being laid by the political leads in order to diffuse these periodic onslaughts that have virtually set Pakistan in the most chaotic of all situations.  Other than witnessing zardari and his stooges smiling or shaking hands or accepting charity checks from more affluent countries, there is not to be seen a moment where the Pakistani political minds have their heads together, putting into place a course of action to fix up the situation on the other hand they all seem very complacent with the situation and in a way have come to accept it.  The other extreme end that is the “media machinery” that time again seems to be very enthusiastic in setting out strategies and policies to remedy the situation, but somehow some of the most brilliant ideas virtually go to deaf ears by policy makers.

All this said and done an addition of fuel to fire is the new aid that is being allotted to the swat/Waziristan refugees described by the British foreign minister as “long-term investment “ so that the evacuees may go back to their communities and live there in security.  The irony that I find in the statement “long term” is two fold one is that the so called honest intentions that are being articulated to these poverty stricken people by the clandestine advocators of misery , now posing to be well wishers of mankind and second of all aids by UK/USA are not meant to be for any welfare reasons but tend to have a very strong long term underlying objective that may apparently diffuse a few eminent problems but always are meant to leave some insidious effects that are beyond the comprehension of even our policy makers.

For a moment and the sovereign claim that we make why don’t we once look at our neighbor Iran who has been tried several times to face the test of the western pressures, but they have come out triumphant each time they have been put into any ordeal, because they have lived to understand what freedom stands for and they are practicing and letting the world do the same.  The main advocators of freedom like UK/US are just worried about their own freedoms.  Western Economics has emphasized upon “scarcity of resources” and therefore we have these bullies/plunderers totally honoring and justifying this concept by waging wars in the world fulfilling there whims as though there would be no tomorrow and on the other hand we have the Islamic Economic concept of “Abundance of resources”.

How much does it take to understand this, more so our national security is put to the edge, just ready to fall off the cliff, I would urge the political figures of our great nation to understand the underlying factor and come up with some very decisive solution in-order to diffuse this situation. This issue has spread around the world like wild fire and will continue on, until the truth is spoken out aloud and not concealed time and again by fancy rhetoric and statements.

The essence of time is requiring a lot more than just saying “Yes master” to the super powers, because the super powers have already assessed and evaluated our credibility in terms of our co-operation nationally and internationally and therefore are leveraging these weaknesses to their benefits.  We ought to wake up and smell the coffee and at all levels may want to start spreading a message of an awakening, to articulate the long term ramification of these operations which have no real or direct motive in the uplifting
